Public Relations Account Executive

To succeed in this role, you should possess:
- Effective communications skills. Taking care to articulate your thought processes and contribute to the team by expressing your ideas clearly.
- Exceptional writing proficiency. A knack for translating ideas into meaningful words — vital for crafting press releases, feature articles, success stories, and other communications materials.
- An eagle’s eye. More accurately, a meticulous approach to your work — especially useful for spotting errors when proofreading written content or checking design artwork.
- Excellent time management skills. Several tasks may scream for your attention at any given time, but you must stay organised, meet deadlines, and adapt to changes.
- Patience. B2B products and technologies may not be as easily understood as consumer products like gadgets, make-up, or gym memberships. Maintain an attitude of dedication, curiosity, and a willingness to learn, and you’ll be fine.
- Ownership. Take pride in doing your work well; only then will you see how others come to appreciate the fruits of your labour.
- Relevant experience. We appreciate having someone who can hit the road running, but don’t worry if you are a fresh graduate. So long as you’re committed and keen, we’re here to guide you on your B2B PR journey!
- Good grasp of the Chinese language. A good proportion of our work involves communicating with media and clients based in China, so this is a non-negotiable.
A glimpse into a typical day at Red Bug…
- PR counsel — Consult with clients to develop appropriate public relations strategies and messages, along with well-managed tactics.
- Written communications — Craft press releases, feature articles, and success stories to convey the business value of clients’ product and service offerings.
- Media relations — Liaise with local, regional, and international media about editorial opportunities, as well as generate targeted publicity in business and trade media (print/online).
- Media monitoring — Browse through various publications/websites and compile clippings of media coverage for clients.
- Marketing communications — Develop marketing collaterals (e.g. brochures, newsletters, websites) catered to clients’ partners and customers.
- Trade show media support — Maximise clients’ presence at events by working with show organisers and participating trade media.
- Research — Execute market/media research and analyse findings.
